Redis 2.8.7 has been released on March 5th 2014, bringing a lot of fixes… Take a look at the Changelog for more details.
The upgrade urgency is low for Redis, low for Sentinel. However this release adds new features so users may want to upgrade in order to exploit the new functionalities.
The packages are now available for both Debian 7.0 “Wheezy” and Debian 6.0 “Squeeze” on both amd64 and i386 architectures.

When I run”apt-get install redis-server” the package from Debian wheezy repository is installed.
As far as I can see, the redis-server package from Dotdeb has a Pin priority of 100 and the one from official repo has 500.
Is this something that changed recently? Is there a way to install redis-server from Dotdeb without creating APT preference files?
Sorry, this was the Pin priority from wheezy-backports.
Didn’t realize that if you use only wheezy-php55 repo that you do not get a redis-server.
