On July 18th 2013, the PHP group has released PHP 5.5.1. About 20 bugs were fixed including a security fix in the XML parser (Bug #65236).
As a consequence, PHP 5.5.1 packages are now available on Dotdeb for Debian 7.0 “Wheezy”, on both amd64 and i386 architectures.
Please read the Changelog and the migration guide (be aware of the backward incompatible changes) before upgrading.
Last but not least, if you like Dotdeb, feel free to show your support.

With the first bugfix update released, is php5.5 production ready?
Thanks for the update though!
Hello,
PHP 5.5 won’t be available for Debian 6.0, right?
@huglester : you’re right, it won’t, sorry.
@Bob : the PHP group has tagged it as stable, but make your own opinion by testing it on a staging environment.
@Guillaume, does this setup support php5-gearman?
@huglester : yes
http://packages.dotdeb.org/dists/wheezy-php55/php5-pecl/binary-amd64/
Thank you @Guillaume!
Using php55 already, no issues so far!
Is it possible to add mariadb to the repository?
Tentative depuis une installation toute fraiche et standard de debian 7 x64, à jour mais sans rien d’autres installé auparavant..
Installation d’apache2 normale ” apt-get install apache2 apache2-common ”
Mais après une installation très classique et minimale de PHP 5.5.1 (quasiment sans extensions) :
“[Thu Aug 15 17:13:55 2013] [crit] Apache is running a threaded MPM, but your PHP Module is not compiled to be threadsafe. You need to recompile PHP.
Pre-configuration failed
Action ‘configtest’ failed. “
@Julien : you have to install apache2-mpm-prefork explicitly. Enabling thread safety is something I’m looking at.
Hello,
On one of VPSes I have problems with starting php5-fpm.
While I do: /etc/init.d/php5-fpm stop/start etc… I see no output at all.
The should be something to with upstart maybe?
Can someone point me on some directions?
Thank you
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
php5-memcached : Depends: libmemcached11 which is a virtual package.
Any idea how to solve this? Also libmemcached11 is using libmemcached1.0.17 which is broken together with this extension (see https://github.com/php-memcached-dev/php-memcached/issues/76).
Is this PHP build/version compatible with xhprof?
@Richard : Whats is your sources.list? Did you add this line?
Find that error using:
service php5-fpm -t
No need to do so, as the MariaDB-Foundation offers packages for all dists.
Pascale
service php5-fpm -t does give no output 🙁
That is the problem… I even tried in freshly installed VPS – same problem.
now after install/reinstall php5-fpm, I get this:
Setting up php5-fpm (5.5.1-1~dotdeb.1) …
start: Job failed to start
invoke-rc.d: initscript php5-fpm, action “start” failed.
dpkg: error processing php5-fpm (–configure):
@huglester : This will be fixed in 5.5.2
I’ve been checking your web log for a long time, but
until now I made a decision to write at least a hello there.
I have been looking through your site for a long time, but until now I made a decision to
place at least a hey there.
